Building Success

Under the exceptional guidance of head coach Kelcy McKenna, Badger Women’s Tennis has been on an incredible journey of success. Their impressive performance led them to the second round of the NCAA Tournament and secured them a coveted spot in the top 30 of the ITA season rankings for the second consecutive year. With Coach McKenna's leadership steering the team, the Badgers have undoubtedly become a force to be reckoned with on the collegiate tennis scene.

Another successful season came to an end when the Badgers lost in the 2nd round of the NCAA Championship to the defending champions, North Carolina. The Badgers posted a tremendous record of 19-7 and the team finished third in the Big Ten Conference and reached the semifinals of the Big Ten Tournament. In the 2023-24 season, the Badgers finished top 30 in the ITA season rankings and earned a bid for the 2024 ITA Kick-Off Weekend.

The 2022-23 season was one of the best seasons for Badgers in program history, winning an NCAA Tournament match for the first time since 2002, and reaching as high as No. 11 in the ITA rankings, their highest team ranking since 1996, and finishing the season ranked No. 22. The Badgers recorded a 20-win season for the first time since 1996-97 and went 8-3 in Big Ten matches for the second straight season. Ava Markham and Maria Sholokhova were selected to the All-Big Ten team, while Markham was the first Badger to qualify in singles at the NCAA Tournament since 2016.
